BIOFILTRATION
The Odour Unit specialises in the design and procurement services of open-bed biofilters. Biofilters have been designed for a variety of industrial applications including:
- Abattoir rendering plants
- Sewage treatment plants
- Food processing
- Oil seed plants
- Minerals processing
- Solid waste recycling
- Organic composting
- Autoclaves
- Paint production
Features of our design are:
- Concrete block or tilt-panel construction
- Humidification and cooling of untreated air and
- A full plenum air distribution chamber beneath the biofilter bed.
These features ensure that optimum biofilter performance is maintained under all operating conditions. TOU has designed systems shown to reduce odour to less than 200 ou, from inlet odour concentrations greater than 20,000 ou (i.e up to and over 99% destruction efficiency).
ODOUR CONTROL
- Design of odour collection from sources, distribution via duct-work and treatment systems at the emission point.
- Where biofiltration is inappropriate, consideration is given to other odour control technologies
