ODOUR LABORATORY SERVICES

NATA Accreditation #14974
All of The Odour Unit's Dynamic Olfactometry Laboratories comply with the requirements of ISO/IEC 17025:2005. The scope of accreditation includes sampling and analysis by the methods of AS/NZS 4323.3:2001 'Determination Of Odour Concentration by Dynamic Oflactometry'. For further information contact us or visit the NATA website www.nata.com.au

Odour Sampling
TOU has the capability to collect representative samples from almost every type of point, area and volume source of odour. Features of our sampling capability include:

  • The use of single use, Nalophan sampling bags
  • The conventional 'drum and pump' sampling method to AS/NZS 4323.3:2001
  • The ability to sample wet and hot stack emissions, using the in-house developed SupaDiluta to AS/NS 4323.3:2001
  • Isolation Flux Chamber and Wind Tunnel Hoods for sampling odorous emissions from solid and liquid area sources
  • Routine measurement of emission flow rate, temperature and relative humidity for every sample that is collected.

Odour Testing
TOU laboratories are capable of carrying out the following analyses:

  • Odour Concentration method AS/NZS 4323.3:2001 in odour units (ou) by the methods of AS/NZS4323.3:2001
  • In-house method for Liquid Odour Potential (ou/mL)
  • Odour Intensity and Hedonic Tone based on the methods of VDI 3882

Key features of the use of Dynamic Olfactometry Testing by TOU include:

  • 4 to 6 person panels and 3 rounds of testing for each sample
  • n-butanol referencing of all testing sessions
  • Calibrated and trained professional odour assessors and
  • Regular instrumental calibration for dilution accuracy and stability
