Odour abatement can consist of either odour emission minimisation at the source or odour reduction through treatment before emission to atmosphere. The Odour Unit's professional staff consist of chemical engineers and scientists with the ability to understand the industrial process responsible for odour generation and develop strategies for cleaner production methods that lead to a reduction of odour emissions.

At the other end of the scale we are experienced in the design of odour collection and treatment systems to suit specific industrial and waste management applications. In the case of biofiltration, we offer a full design, procurement and construction management service to clients wishing to install a biofilter for odour control. Where biofiltration is not a viable technology, other odour control technologies, including chemical scrubbing, activated carbon and thermal oxidation, will be evaluated and odour control systems designed.
